THEME WEEKS

Celebrate each week with a super-fun, week-long theme!

Wk. 1 • Bienvenidos • A fun week of ice breakers and team building.

Wk. 2 • Mad Science • Campers will be engaging in science-themed games, experiments, food, snacks, and decorating – to make it look like a science lab!

Wk. 3 • Culture Week • Learn more about world cultures and traditions and the history that makes these cultures so unique.

Wk. 4 • Amazing Race • Campers get the chance to race from country to country, participating in different challenges.

Wk. 5 • Team Spirit Week • Campers will get to show team pride, share their chants, and support and compete in team games and challenges.

Wk. 6 • Let’s go camping! • Campers will get the overnight camping experience by spending the afternoon hanging out with friends and camping out in the gym. We will learn how to put up tents and even make delicious camp snacks while learning camp songs.

Week 7 • Treasure Hunters • Instead of having campers find one treasure after another, campers will be able to solve a riddle or mystery.

Week 8 • Storytellers • Campers will be able to become a character in a book – or become an author of a book!

Wk. 9 • Our Camp has Talent! • Do you sing, dance or have a few magic tricks you would like to share? Whatever your talent is make sure that you share it, and support your friends as they take the stage.

A TYPICAL DAY FOR A DAY CAMPER @ YMCA AT RIDER UNIVERSITY

We’re planning so many fun small and large group activities. The schedule will keep the campers interested, enthused and energized throughout the day.

Opening Ceremonies.

The entire camp assembles for announcements, and prepares for breakfast.

Small Group Time.

Each group will meet with their counselor for a brief discussion of the agenda and the theme for the week. Campers take personal belongings to their area.

Music/Movement.

Campers will tap into their creativity by expressing themselves through music and movement.

Recreational Fun.

Campers will have the opportunity to participate in many physical activities such as onsite swimming, golf, basketball, dance, small group and large group physical activities.

Swimming.

Campers will enjoy our very own onsite swimming pool.

Camper’s Choice.

Choices include, but are not limited to: archery, pottery, tennis, and advanced art.

Closing Ceremonies.

The entire camp will join together to discuss the day and sing camp songs.

Small group meeting.

Campers will meet with their counselors to discuss the agenda for the next day as well as what they achieved for the day and goals for tomorrow. Campers will then
be dismissed for pickup/drop-off.
